What started as hesitation getting into reverse became full on f1 failure for all gears. An internal mesh disintegrated and fouled the whole system up. This presented an opportunity. I could convert to manual at half the cost of sourcing and installing a new f1 system. Financially that makes the most sense. But as the owner of two manual cars already, the f1 super fast provides something different and thrilling. I believe it suits the car. I wonder how many other folks debated these options. At a certain point f1 cars just won’t function provided some scrappy entrepreneur doesn’t reverse engineer it.

I've been back and forth on this for years. I finally decided that making a Ferrari intentionally slower was counter productive so I'm full speed ahead on other 599 projects.
