F12 Availability

What are people hearing about F12 availability in US now?

 

It varies depending on different areas in the US and one's own purchasing history
For some one who never has bought a new Ferrari the minimum would be 2 years

 

My dealer which is a large Ferrari dealer got 6 last year and Ferrari gave them no F12's for the first quarter of this year. They are very slow to come to the US. Seems Ferrari has lots of them in Europe on the showroom of dealers just waiting to be purchased.

Not sure of Ferrari strategy for the US. I have bought 3 Ferraris in the last 4 years and still waiting for my F12 allocation so I can place my order.

 

In Europe F12s are sold barely used with heavy discounts.
Can be ordered to spec new with delivery in arounds 4 month (first time buyers or long-term customers alike).

 

That's so aggravating. Here in the southeast US as a first time buyer it's 3+ years.

 

Because in Europe there is no perception of exclusivity surrounding car ownership.

 

It wouldn't be the case if Ferrari shift some of the allocation to the US

Wait lists might not be as long as some think?

 

I can't help but think this is the result of US buyers fixation with resale values driving Ferrari to artificially restrict supply in order to keep the punters happy.

 

I'm not certain that was a brand new F12... could have been lightly used.

 

But then they couldn't continue to raise prices and premiums in the USA.

 

He says it was new, but who knows.

I think he means that people in Europe don't really care if they're the only one that has a Ferrari? If they like a car, they buy it. It doesn't have to be super exclusive and hard to get.

So, out of curiosity, is it harder to get an allocation for a Speciale or an F12? I would assume for a Speciale since it is produced in limited number.

 

Speciale is not limited, they will make as many as they can sell.

 

I meant in very low volume (more likely over two year production only before the 458 replacement) vs. the F12

 

Just been speccing an F12 for the UK with a friend and given a September build. Go figure.
