Sad to see one that way. :(

One of the comments on Jalopnik may shed a bit more light on the story, and the car involved:

...although I'd go with 'ironic', not necessarily 'funny'. Guessing there were very few laughs.

Wow, that's a crazy coincidence. It'll be an expensive fix, but it will see better days ahead. Hurts to see another one like that.

One good thing about values being sky high is there's no chance of an F40 being written off.

It'll get rebuilt, but that's one fewer no-stories F40 that exists today...

That intersection is within 30 seconds from FoO.

The roads around FoO are horrible. They are the main arteries in that part of town. The intersections are much too wide, too busy and the traffic is often chaotic due to constant road work in one spot or another. I don't like driving in that area because you have to have eyes at the back of your head.

FoO was actually finishing the annual maintenance on my car today. The F40 accident may have caused a commotion and slowed the work on my car. I was supposed to collect it today.

Yeah, that's David, the service manager pushing the car from the back in the video and surveying the car in the photo - I was waiting all day for a call from him. He probably got called to the scene immediately after the accident. Now it's supposed to be rain every day for the next 7 days. Hope they will fully rebuild that F40. It looked like it was in mint condition before the accident. What a shame.

Nasty whack indeed, first off I hope everyone involved is ok. From the looks of it I'm the F40 firewall has been greatly compromised.

No jokes about calling Richard Rawlings please.

You can see the firewall in those pics? I have no idea how you can see enough detail to even come close to making that call.

The car is easily repairable and can be made to be better than new. It's a very modular car and old damaged parts just come off and get thrown away and new parts bolted in the place. If the frame is fine and it's only front cro-moly subframe that's tweaked, they just take that off and toss it, along with damaged parts like wishbones and such. There's no way that's a write-off.

Heck, I think I probably have half the parts they need for the repair sitting in my basement stash of F40 spare parts.

I totally agree this car is far from the wreckers. Heck I'd be surprised if the windshield was broken. Lest we forget the engine is in the back.

Pains me to say this and it sucks it was crashed but is this a situation where current owners are ecstatic? (i.e. appreciation)

I don't think that was Ramo's car. I was up there picking up parts last week, and they had one in the service bay. This could be the car. Remo's was upstairs on display.

I agree. That place is a zoo, you have to drive like you're on red alert.

I was just at FoO at noon, this must've happened just afterwards. That explains why I had difficulty reaching one of the main service advisors all afternoon... Shame it had to be a F40.

Really? How much to 'repair' one from vin plate only?

Can anyone go back to see if Remo's car is still displayed upstairs? If it is, then we know it's not Ferri's personal F40.
