    So, here is the deal...
As I posted on my introduction post I'm a Ferrari diecast collector.
Whenever I buy a diecast model car (or before I buy one) I search over the internet to gather informations about the 1:1 car. Anyway, it hasn't been a problem until now. I've recently bought F40 Lightweight version with black OZ magnesium rims. Very, very nice car. The trouble is that I can't find any info on the 1:1 car. I know that there are a couple of versions of F40 : "regular", GTE, LM,...but no Lightweight in the official classification.
I've tried to google about it but with no luck. The only one I've found was the red one on Duch plates (Netherlands). That car is the same as my diecast car, but there are only pics of it and no text. As I can see from the pictures, the main difference between stock F40 and LW version, besides rims, are the exhaust pipes. From the LW name I can only conclude that it is lighter than stock F40, or maybe I'm wrong?
Does anyone know anything about the story of F40 LW (not LM)?

    Thanx.

From my reading of the "USA FERRARI F40" thread,"lightweight" is just an informal reference to the non-USA F40, which doesn't have the US-required bumpers, crash structures, etc.

    I have a Poucher F40 1:8's scale / Burgao 1:18's and Kyosho as well.

I would have to say F40 LM's at the later part of production life would have to be the rarest and lightest ones, as far as obscurely rare F40's, and no one has ever seen them again, back in 1988 there are 2 Yellow F40's that are factory colors, never seen or heard of them coming up for sale, so any one want to chime in on this one ?

do not offer me an F40 that has been burnt to a crisp and krazy glued back together, not interested.

just wanted info on these yellow birds.
