f430 Questions

08 spyder, I cant figure out what the 2 blue lights on each side of the vin stamp on my steering wheel are for? When I open my door to get in I can here a pump priming is that the fuel pump or the f1 pump. Thanks, Lee

 

Do you have radar in the car? I have an 07 an there aren't any blue lights on either side of the vin stamp.

 

When you open the door it's the F1 pump priming the system.

Could you figure out how these blue lights are behaving, when do they light up, do they flash? Maybe a shift light?

 

I cant get them to do anything, I guess they are not factory.

 

I suspect the lights are for a built in radar. There is likely an on/off switch hidden somewhere that turns the system on.

Can you not talk to the previous owner to find these details??

 

I saw a Ferrari today (I think it was a 599) with the two blue "lights". The vin plate was missing so I assumed that the vin plate attached to them and that was their only purpose. I didn't think they were lights though.

 

can you post a photo so thatwe see what you are talking about. I do nothave any blue lights either.

Anyone figure out the blue lights? Just bought a 2006 F430 as well, and it has them. They come on when you turn the ignition switch to on when everything is cycling through the pre-start checks. Then they go out and don't come back on, at least not that I have noticed.
