I currently have a 812 SF and a 488 GTB as my fair weather daily. I originally started my search for my first Ferrari looking at F8 cars and just missed on nearly every one that I tried to buy so I snagged a new 2020 SuperFast instead.

I couldn't help but find myself just constantly looking for F8 cars even with the 488 being such a similar vehicle so I decided to have a dealer put a number on my 812 and their F8.

Long story short, the swap paperwork showed up this morning and now the long wait of waiting for it to ship from San Fran to here in Birmingham, AL.

I liked the 812 a lot but it wasn't really my "style" and I found myself always grabbing the 488 keys.

The V12 is amazing but the car leaves a lot on the table from a driving perspective for me.

The F8 is just a 488 brought to the next level - so you will not be disappointed.

That doesn't include the hit on the 812.

Interesting… I have been thinking about selling my 488GTB for a 812 Superfast but I’m not sure if I will get as special feeling out of the 812. I do like the looks and love the v12 sound…but my 488 just feels young alive and fun…..I’m so not sure what to do.

I would love a V12 Ferrari but it would have to be an addition to my F8 not a replacement. Two totally different cars.

I certainly get the special feeling out of my 812, but I can see how others might not.

Drive one see what you think, I did and while I certainly liked the car…I definitely like the quicker, more nimble feeling of the mid engine layout.

My trade number was 4K more than I paid for the car. No hits here in the US currently.

Also the 379K asking price on the F8 was not the final number.

The 812 is a glorious cruiser with amazing sound and power. I didn't use it for either of those if I were honest. I drove it to/from a nice dinner and that's about it and used the 488 for everything else including longer drives just because I adore the mid-engine V8 cars coming from a bunch of V10 Lamborghini based cars prior.

Maybe it's an age thing. I am only 38 and prefer the rear mounted engine experience right now more.

Problem is finding one I can drive….it’s not like my local dealer allows test drives just to see. They’ve never ever been friendly

4 K more on a used 812 or a brand new one ? 812 have been hit really bad.

I stated my 812 car was new in the first post. I don't know what metric you're using to determine "hit really bad" but by my assessment it has been anything but.

I plan on pulling the trigger on the F8. Its an 80k delta for me. Having both the 488 and f8 now. Do you feel its worth it?

Quick story, had to go to my dealer today. Took my F8. Parked right by a 488 a guy was looking to purchase. He was blown away by the F8 in comparison. Immediately asked for a test drive of a F8. Is it worth it? Very subjective question but between a 488 and a F8…. F8 all day and twice on Sunday.

So I've had my F8 now for 100 days or so and wanted to report back after ample drive time. The F8 is certainly worth the upgrade over the 488 in every way from where I sit. I ended up trading my 488 for a brand new EVO RWD and I just have the Ferrari and Lamborghini now as they make a great pair. I have a RSQ8 for a rain car.

Took some pictures of it yesterday while everyone was out shopping. I know the wheels aren't for everyone but I like them with the subtle drop on factory springs.

Congratulations, enjoy, beautiful!!! The mid-engine cars are more fun to drive IMHO.
