I have a friend that recently passed. The family is selling the 1984 308 GTB with 76k miles on it. The car is in fair condition at best. It is prugna in color. I'm know this is not a desirable color and high mileage but I would like to place a fair bid for the car just to keep it in my collection as a memory to my friend. Can someone give me a fair market price?

I know the car has been maintained but I don't know when the last belt service was done so let's assume it needs it. I'm just looking for a fair range and I own several other Ferraris so I am very familiar with the cars. Thanks for your input.

I guess one could check the usual spots like the 308 market thread, or haggerty, or other sites....but if the top of my head I would say between $20k to $50k.

$20k for a GTB? I would say between $50k and maybe $70k depending an actual condition even with those miles.

GTBs seem to be hot right now and there aren't many qv GTBs. However, this car sounds like it needs some work, it has high miles and is not a color that everyone likes. My best guess would be $40-$50k depending on how it looks.

I was guessing in this range. I know that with the miles and color this would not be a really desirable car but then again, it is the sentimental value and I would never plan to sell it. The problem with the guides is it doesn't take into account the high mileage and this can vary all over the place. Anyone have input on a high mileage recent similar sale?

I go along with $40K as the sweet spot.

$55 to $85, I do like the color. This would be a great car to own, still has plenty miles ahead of it and is timeless.

Look around at other car choices and asking prices.

Thanks for the input. I just put in an offer. It really isn't so much about the car as a monument to my friend. We will see what happens.

I love it when people think 76K miles is a "problem" and price it down accordingly :D

76k mileage is at most average in reality, not really high mileage. $20k is just silly, it's a driver and all of them needs work even if you have the belts changed. Cars in pieces are asking more than $20k.

I'll pay the widow the higher end if he's a close friend. That's just me.

I would put the absolute bottom at 50k. There are people out there who actually would like to find a Prugna car so don't let that skew the value too much.

I'm certain yours will be the first data point he uses. I would say $55K- 85K would be a starting range. 308GTB QVs are not plentiful.

I've only seen prugna in the flesh on a GTS-QV and a Mondial 3.2. I think a prugna GTB QV would be quite stunning and desirable. Jon

I have seen a GTB QV that color a few time down here in the southeast at some FCA events over the years. I believe a lady was the owner as well.

I have some pictures around here somewhere.
