Ferrari F48

I just noticed somebody ask for photos in this section of a 348 with a 355 bodykit on it, which made me think about this car I used to work on, I am sure many people have seen this car at tracks and outings as the owner was very keen on trips out to SPA etc.

Humm, just wondering if this Ferrari still exists

 

I like the F40-style rear window and the cross-brace

 

Hate to say it, but I think it looks like a kit car, especially the two shots to the right. Maybe the larger body panels make the car seem shorter and stubbier or something. Definitely looks fast, though.

Willy Koenig used to make (makes) cars to go much faster. Body kit designer used tot be Strosek, later known for his P-car work.

I think the last thing our 348 gearboxes need is 520hp.

 

Seen it a few times.

The current owner uses it for trackdays.

 

Saw that car quite a few times last year. The owner is a very friendly FOC guy who uses it at there trackdays..IIRC i am sure he told me that they only did 3 conversions from brand new cars.

 

I think the guy who owned it still owns it now in the north east of uk, I think but it is a few year since I've seen him. If it is still owned by him he is a top guy.

The car does look better in the flesh, ( not so kit car looking), he also bought a 355 roof and we colour coded it but he was used to the contrast of the black roof.

There are some things that need be left alone, and one thing is the inherent beauty of Ferraris. Especially when Koenigg get his hands on them. That thing is nothing short of butt ugly.

 

This car was still alive and well last year, it looks much better in the flesh than in the photos (no disrespect to the photographer)

 

I really like it! Of course I used to drool all over the Koenig Testarossa and 928 when I was in Jr. High!

 

I agree. It looks like a re-bodied Fiero.

I'm all for performance upgrades, if that's what you want to do, but I never understood turning a genuine Ferrari into a kit car.
