I'll fill it up soon :)

Actually it is a hobby, but it's also my work, cause it is the only way i earn money, cause I'm a pupil.

But first of all it is a hobby. And it's a way to improve my skills, cause I want to become a transportation Designer.

Last Christmas my wife got me a picture of my car done by hand by a gentleman in Florida. he did a great job but I think your artwork is bettter. He would handpaint you car from a description of color and options, add the chassis number and your name and frame it for I think it was $250. He advertised in one of the FCA newsletters. Maybe a similar revenue source hobby for you if you enjoy drawing the cars.

I'm glad you like my pics :)

Yes, I've already drawn some pics for owners on demand. For roundabout 250€ but they aren't framed, cause I send them by post and Frames can broke easily.

I've drawn an orange Gemballa Mirage, too.

I post it here, although the tread is called Ferrari Paintings, cause I don't want to open a new thread.

Here it is, next to an LP 640

Man, FChat is so international and has so many nice cars. Thats awesome

Very well done. The yellow lambo is my favourite.
Marker renderings, correct? I am of the age I worked with those strong alcohol-based markers. First stage would be slight dizziness then oh, the headaches. Nowadays there would be labour laws against them.
Keep up the great work. We love to see them.

Here's another drawing, made for a zonda fan.

    With a unique paintjob.

Unfortunately you can't really see the detailing on those resized pictures :(

I've been a pro graphic designer/photographer for 30 years. You are off to a great start! I'm a Jay Koka fan & also Charles Maher. Check out their websites. You have the car part down nicely. Now incorporate it into the environment for a total package work of art.

That is a very good suggestion. The artwork with a neat background really do stand out.

Thx for the Suggestion, I'll try next week. I really, really like the Jay Koka pics, the Charles Maher pics, are good, too, but in my opinion not as good as the Koka pix.

    Darkshark,

If you are truly serious about Trans where are you thinking of going? Are you friends with any of the professional car designers in the area?

As you continue you will need to really understand form and how reflections move across the transitioning forms to express the desired shapes. Have you started to look at Alias yet?

    Nice work so far.

I'm not friend with a car designer, but I know a designer who's very successful and whom I could ask when I want to know sth.

Unfortunately, I haven't done anything with 3d Software yet, but I want to learn it.

    Are you a designer?

    Darkshark,

Yes, I am a designer. Went to Art Center, Trans. My career path took a turn shortly after graduation (a long, long time ago); do corporate aircraft interiors.

Auto design is a difficult field that will use and abuse you - that is just getting through college. Use whatever connections you can to get to the auto designers. Most should be helpful in giving advice and techniques. Forget the popular automotive press look for the Japanes publication Car Styling. You want to see the development process and the sketches and renderings from the designers and they worked the project. Study these drawings to understand the thinking of a designer and the techniques of expressing the ideas. At the same time look at the dates on the drawings - they are 3 to 5 years old when the car hits the road.

3D will need to become your friend. The more you learn now the less you will spend in college just getting to the basics. At the same time there is a sponteneity that comes with creating directly to paper that can be lost with all the computers.

    Jeff

Sorry, that I answer that late, I'm very busy, this time.

First of all, thank you very much for the advice.

What do you mean with japanese publication car styling? Is it a magazine for designers?

Car Styling is a magazine published in Japan that is directed to and read by the professional auto designers and the students who are trying to become designers. Also check out www.cardesignnews.com.
