    I did my first solo today. 1977 Cessna 172N at KORL. Calm winds, 3000' ceiling. The 3 landings were decent, but nothing to brag about. All I kept thinking was how weird it was to be alone in the plane.

    Good for you and congrats.....

    Its a kick in the pants isn't it !

    mine was just over a year ago but I remember it like it was yesterday, it wasn't being on my own during taxi or take off, just looking over turning crosswind and realizing, " holy cow I have to land this thing on my own"......

    I bet you could hear your instructors voice in your head the whole time....

    Next step Solo cross country....that's really cool, finding an airport right where you thought it should be, that still amazes me.
