    Welcome to Ferrari Chat, db4.

    Just for additional information:

Does the low fuel light only come on when the tank is very low, or is it on all the time?

Does the oil temperature gauge next to the fuel gauge work properly?

Does the dashboard illumination work in the fuel gauge?

Is the needle on the fuel gauge stuck at zero, or somewhere between empty and full?

    Hi all,

Anyone knows how much fuel is left when that light comes on? Gauge reads about 1/8 of a tank which should equate to approx 10litres (2gal). But you know what these gauges are like. I can never get close 75litres, let alone manual's touted 82 litres even when I think I'm running on fumes.

The simple assumption with most Ferraris is when the light is solid you have at least fifty miles - what does the 355 book say : 20 litres as I recall so to refill as soon as the light is solid shouldn't take much more than 60 litres

Problem with the book is that it doesn't say anything, from the range you have to the amount of fuel that triggers the light.

low fuel light only on when low , oil temp works , gauge lights work, gas gauge is intermittent drops to empty at will ,will work for an hour then drop to zero .

I can only give an opinion, but to me, this sounds like a gauge problem rather than a sender problem or a wiring problem. But it would be easy (less than a minute) to pull the center console panel and check the wiring connection on the back.

The reserve on a 355 is 5-5.2 gallons or 19-20 liters when the fuel low lamp illuminates. That could explain why you never get as much fuel into it as you think you should. On many cars the tank will read empty when the fuel lamp low indication illuminates, telling you only reserve remains.

The 348 says the reserve is 5.28 gallons or 20 liters.

    i have an '87 328.
when the yellow light comes on solid, i'd better be in plain view of a gas station.

i ran out of gas between nowhere and not- at- all when i first got her.luckily a nice
farmer brought over a can of premium with a flexible spout.
he didn't even want money for the gas!

i always put in 5gal. or so every time we leave the garage.
