    So what is the best gear oil to use, I did a search and there was so many options So would like to know what other people hav been using been thinking about going with red line NS but to you have to add friction modifier,thanks for any info

    Your limited research seems to have gotten you the oil that I believe is favoured.

    I didn't use any additional modifier in mine. I had chatter beforehand and do not have chatter now (though it did take a few weeks to go away entirely).

    I do not have one yet.. but I favor Motul. Use it on a lot of other cars, and race cars. Anyone have experience with this in theirs? My instinct was to use this, but maybe i am wrong?

    To my manufacturers understanding Red Line does not require the modifier you speak of.

    Redline gear oil in my 348. It's one of the best!

    If I owned a 360, I would use Redline oil in that also.

    Redline 75W90 gear oil comes in two version, one with friction modifier one without.

    The big problem is that the best differential fluids are not always the best for transmissions. They use sulphur which is not good for brass synchros found in most gearboxes. The better diff fluids also have friction modifiers which are not good for shifting. On the other hand, the best fluids for the gearboxes do not always work good in differentials, especially the ones with hypoid gears such as the Ferrari. Using non-hypoid oil in a differential that calls for hypoid oil can score the face of the gears causing a roaring sound and eventual failure. Redline does make a fluid specifically for the Ferrari and other transaxles. They have a friction modifier available and the instructions are to add only if needed. It will effect the shifting and should not be needed for street use. The only reason to add it is if the diff clutch discs groan on slow corners.     The NS spec is the one to get. Not all 75W90 oils are equal, even when from the same manufacturer.

    Used Redline lightweight shockproof in both my 348 and 360 6 speed manual with great results. No diff chatter and shifts much better, especially when cold. Can get 2nd gear from cold in 348 and 360 much easier to shift when cold.

    Absolutely.

    You will have the chattering problem with straight Redline. Adding friction modifier will eliminate the chatter, but make the car difficult to shift. The Redline Lightweight Shockproof gear oil is fantastic. My car has never shifted better + no chatter.

    Yes. We are in a hot climate here and i found it to degrade just as quickly as the standard spec shell 75/90, so i switched to the redline..

    Only for information and what it may be worth-I chose RLI products(Renewable Lubricants Inc) (engine and tranny fluids) for my manual 360 last change. Will have these analyzed after this year of use. This will aid me in determining OCI. Also, did not use friction modifiers in tranny. Used same fluids for last change on Porsche 997, and they will also be analyzed at 1 year.
