Stephen, in America, we celebrate Thanksgiving every November... It's to honor the pilgrims who came to America, pillaged, raped and murdered the Native Americans who were already here, stole their land, shat on their culture and spiritual beliefs, outcast them from society and gave them tax-free cigarettes and casinos a few hundred years later...

Traditionally, we slaughter birds - Turkeys in this case - and we carve into their broiled flesh much the same way the pilgrims savagely ripped into the virgin, innocent, peaceful flesh of the Indians that were here before them... We eat said flesh (the turkey's, not the Indian's) along with all sorts of other "American" things like apple pie and candied yams and rejoice with our families... This iconic American time of year generally means that most people will try to squeeze an extra day or two off from their employers so they can spend time with their families, usually spending money they don't have and won't earn with their half-assed work ethics...

    Anyway, happy holiday... :)

What about all the native americans we oppressed? Do you think they sit around a table, eating bird, giving thanks to their diety for the ****ing diseased white man?

Right you are. I once invited my secretary of several years ago to thanksgiving at our home, with her son, the large, hostile goth. My wife had done a beautiful job on the table arrangements and he pointed to some candelbra and said,"Oh, black candles, to commemorate the vicious murders of the natives so we could build shopping malls."
Yep, that really set the right tone for dinner. I tried to make sure none of his piercings got caught on the way out my door....

    Indians are of European descent.

Canucks celebrated Thanksgiving like a month or so ago. Not that they're advanced, rather they're @ 10 months behind.

However, being from advanced civilization, I baked 2 pies Monday night & cooked everything else yesterday.

    For this, I am thankful.
