She finished 4th at Twin Ring Motegi after qualifying 2nd. She certainly is proving to be a very competent driver.

She is such a great driver and such a cutie. I wish she had more of a chance to be competitive when she was driving the ProDrive 550

If I had a juiced Honda motor, I could qualify 2nd too.

    - 8 cautions for 59 laps out of 200
    - Race leader at lap 199 runs out of gas
    - 5 cars on the lead lap - All Hondas, go figure.

She finished 4th by staying out of trouble. Scott Dixon crashed on the first freakin' lap.

    Watch those hands, Bobby.

I think Bobby Rahal has been "hitting" that for quite a while.

Danica travels to the races with dad in tow, sometimes mom. I know her dad, nice people. I did a post about her on Speed, and received little support, she is good, and if she keeps focused, she will make a great name for herself as a top driver.

By the way she fills out that outfit, I'd say she was definitely built for speed...

This morning (Sunday) she just ran a practice lap of 229+ MPH warming up for pole day.

She has qualified 4th as of now, but will probably go back out in the last hour (6-7pm Eastern). It will be covered live on ESPN2.

She had a little wiggle on the start of her first lap out, 224 mph. The other three laps were all over Kanaan's pole average. I'd say she has a 50/50 chance of getting pole. Good luck to her.

She looked mad at herself for not getting pole, and I hope she does it, but I hope Rahal doesn't let her get back in the car while she is still mad. That's how Gilles was killed.

If she does it I can see an average lap speed in the 228s.

By the way, somebody please tell Janet Guthrie to STFU. She's just jealous because nobody ever wanted to hit it with her.

I find it hard to believe she would have a difficult time getting pole. Oh, you mean she didn't start at the first position in a race? Nevermind...different kind
    of pole :)

p.s.: For any feminazis: if she has pictures taken of her as shown in some of the other posts, then it is more than OK to view her as more than just a skilled driver!

She was really upset Rahal pulled the plug for the pole. I understand why he did (didn't like her practice speeds) but I really wanted her to go back out. Comments?

I posted a thread some time ago on Speed and on FChat about Danica. I know her father and have been following her career for some time. I got blasted when I suggested that she is the real thing.

Back when I was a paid photographer I saw Paul Newman sitting in a NASCAR modified at Daytona. I laughed. After watching him for a few races, I realized he is a race driver that also acts.

Danica Patrick is a race driver that just happens to be a female.

    She is the real thing.

I visit other boards and it just pisses me off when I listen to couch racers go on and on about how the whole series is contrived to help her win. Gah if only one of those morons would get on a track and drive a car they would realize how much mental and physical strength it requires.

I swear the MCP of today grows worse day by day. Men just can't accept it when a woman comes in and spanks them silly. I've had my butt handed to me by many women, didn't make me feel inferior just made me try that much harder the next time.

She is a very good driver no doubt about that, but don't doubt that many people in the series want her to win. She's the most marketable driver in racing today

So was Sarah Fisher... she faded away pretty fast and now is doing some version of NASCRAP.

This is true but she wasn't as talented. Or good looking for that matter. Sarah Fisher was a long shot at best to win. Danica has a real chance with a better team.
