    Goodwood is always good for a bunch of Spitfires; after all, they were based there during the war.

    Spitfire's 75th Birthday this year.

    Funny how the Hurricane outnumbered the Spitfire 3 to 1 in Summer 1940 and are actually the plane that "won the Battle Of Britain", but it's the pretty one that gets all the attention...

    I wish they still had a flying Mosquito in Britain. I was at least glad to have been able to see the last one they had, back in 1990.

    Saw them at Duxford last year for the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain - 17 in formation!

    Of course, the pretty ones always win in the court of public opinion....

    I do know the history of the Hurricane and meant not to besmirch the fellows that downed many a Junkers and ME-109 to defeat the (otherwise superior) Germans.
