Anyone have thoughts on the color Grigio Ingrid ( light silver tan)on a 550 or 575...or any Fcar for that matter?

I have one and every where I go I get compliments on it.

It was the only color I would buy, took a year to find the right one.

    Grigio Ingrid/Sabbia

Go to post #14 on the thread captioned "456M GT -- I must have one! My wish list" begun February 28, 2009. There's an interior shot in my post that has what I think must be the best combination to go with an ingrid silver exterior: cuoio/sabbia combination with a customer specified carpet color that I'd call "burnt sienna" based on my childhood box of crayolas (a reddish brown).

The exterior color is very subtle. Some like it and some don't and it is probably cheaper to buy and harder to sell than the less gold-infused grays. I've had people say the color reminds them of a Toyota Camry (ouch).

It's a gorgeous color but appeals only to a select number of buyers, thus impacting resale. It may be the one color at the opposite end of the spectrum from "resale red'.

As was pointed out already, it is more sensitive than other colors about being paired with interior colors. Sabbia looks very nice.

Looks really good on the 456, not as good on others IMO.

Certainly one of the colors many would consider an "acquired taste." I happen to think it is quite elegant and it grows on you.

I had the same experience with Grigio Alloy. See the difference? I thought Grigio Alloy was a bit "girly" on a big car like a Maranello but I've grown to appreciate its rarity and the way it changes in different light.

At the end of the day, take the advice of other people on this board and buy what you like not what you think you can easily sell later. If my experience is any judge, you always own cars longer than you think you will.

    375 MM "Ingrid Bergman"
Sergio Scaglietti and his Carrozzeria Scaglietti were commissioned by director Roberto Rossellini to custom build a one-off version of the 375 MM with custom bodywork for his wife, actress Ingrid Bergman. This design later became the inspiration for the car which would be named after Scaglietti himself, the Ferrari 612.
Ms. Bergman wasn't too fond of the car, or of Rossellini's love for Ferraris in general.

As a curiosity, the colour that was chosen for this amazing masterpiece was unique and not available for the other Ferrari models. It was the intention of Roberto Rossellini to utilize a colour that could be compared to that of Ingrid Bergman's eyes. This colour is now available for all production Ferraris under the name "Grigio Ingrid."

It's an extremely elegant color and very understated. I'd pair it with an interior of cuoio.

    Cheers, Hank

I prefre pure silver like this one. It belongs to a senior friend of mine who happens to own 456 and 575 in the same color. The silver really highlight the curve of the 575...nice.
