So I went in to FofNE today to drop my Scud off for service and talk about ordering a new 2013 458....Had a nice test drive....Two totally different cars but the Italia is an awesome machine....a much more comfortable ride but not as raw....

I have their next coupe allocation which may not be until Jan or Feb as the factory is trying to catch up on Spiders....I was planning on going with Corsa/ Nero but after seeing a Silverstone they had in the showroom I'm now torn....The color was stunning which I'm sure had partly to do with the lighting but sitting next to the red my eyes still gravitated to it....

I obviously have some time but I think that's what I may go with....

I love Silverstone. I also love Ferro.

You will LOVE whatever color you choose (reds, greys, etc.)

If it had been any other color would you still have been torn? If you say yes...then you have not really locked in a color you like. If you say no then it really is picking between the 2 and if you have not seen both in person that is one sided decision. Because i any color in person would probably make you want that color!

I say print out your favorite 458s online, then through darts at it...then check wind direction...then spin 3 times and go with....The opposite of the one you pick! Its the second choice that is the one you want.

Either way at least you will be the proud owner of a 458!!!

Best way to choose IMHO is seeing the 458 in the various colors in person over and over again. I went back and forth between triple yellow, triple red and nero daytona for months waiting for the final spec date to arrive. I thought that was half the fun.

I saw a wide variety of colors in the showroom and service department....2 different Blues, Rosso Corsa, Rosso Scuderia, Yellow, White, Black, Grigio Scuro....Coming in I had my mind set on Rosso Corsa (because that's what my Scud is)....My attention always returned to the GS....multiple times....That with the Diamond finish wheels, shields, and black calipers is a classy looking car....

Red is sporty. Grigio is classy. Can't lose.

I have owned red, yellow, black, titanium, silver, and Silverstone. Silverstone is my favorite and that's how I ordered my 458 which shows up next month. Can't go wrong with Silverstone. Trust your instincts.

I think you have found your color buddy, GS. Also why get a color similar to your scud, switch it up. Cant go wrong with that GS its beautiful.

I think you might also want to see in person grigio titanio, and then there's white. Both look great with a black roof wrap.

I don't think that's silverstone. It appears to be Grigio ferro or titanio.

I owned a 430 Silverstone/Cuio , imo, the classiest color combo available, and now a 458 "contemporary" color combination (black/white). If you want traditional (pick a red) or contemporary (white, white/black, red/black). The good news is you have the ability to choose and know yourself what you want to "live with" Best

Don't you guys ever bond with your cars?. You all just seem to flick them on when you've only had them for a short time. Weird.

I've had my Alfa Romeo for 26 years ...

Just asking, whats your reason waiting for coupe instead of going with the Spider? (Or not the upcoming scud if you are not fan of open top)

    Silverstone/Tan is the best

Thought about silverstone plus burgundy red inside ?
    Stunning and VERY classy.

Any metallic grey tone brings out the wonderful curves of the coupé.

But who am I to write, as I have a nero daytona car... ;)

    Best,
    Ulli

I have had a 1981 Porsche Turbo since new, but only for sentimental reasons. It is simply "old" by comnparison to all that has followed. Every now and then I find a car I like and hold on to like my Bentley GT (love the smell of the leather). However, all of my other cars are expendable. I suspect it has to do with age and money. When able to buy what you want when you want there is fun in doing just that so things move through your life a bit quicker. The novelty of ownership is shorter. I truly enjoy what I buy/drive, but at this stage in my life the only "bonding" that occurs is with people. Best

I had a vert once and never again....I do not enjoy it....

My goal is to get a 458 "Scud"......those are a year or two out and having not bought a new Ferrari yet I am very low on "the list"....buying a new 458 will almost assure me of getting a new Scud.....

The 458 looks fantastic in Grigio Titanio. My GT 430 always gets compliments at C&C, people really like the color (my car is always kept clean/waxed, so the color shows its best). It's a classy, subdued color, but it also has some pop.

Grigio Silverstone is also a very nice color. I like it with cuoio or a medium-red interior (GS/red 599's look fantastic). When shopping for my car, I almost bought a GS/cuoio 430, but the distance to the dealer and my trade-in complicated the deal.

I am a huge fan of grey Ferrari´s. Down here I share 3 grays: Silverstone, Ferro and Titanio. The choice is yours. Best!

Here is my titanio italia. Nero sports seats, carbon interior and rosso stitching/belts/carpets. I had the front section between the wings painted in titanio and I think that works well with titanio. I did have a silverstone california with sabia which I loved as well.

My dealer should have their demo spider in silverstone and sabia this week, it might be mine at the end of the year. I will post some pics when I get to see it.

You will also find the stunning titanio spider with cuio sports seats belonging to davidjames1 on the forum, lovely.
