GT Sportscars

First round of new Australian GT sportcars this weekend at Phillip Island.

Ted Huglin running his new ALMS/AUS spec 360GT, Dean Savage running 360C, and John Teulan in his 360C also.

Plus Lambo's, Vipers, Porches etc etc etc........

 

I would love to watch a round of this series - any idea if there is a round in WA (Barbagallo/Wannaroo Raceway) this year?

 

what basic outline can you give of the days? practice/qual/race/etc rough times... and entry details for spectating.

fat chance i'll actually make it, but i need some R&R and a quick getaway could be in order.

 

Running in numerous 15-20 minute sessions on Fri/Sat/Sun

with races of 8 or 12 laps on Sat and Sun only.

 

Any idea when it gets going Sunday morning?

Like to work past midnight every night, work every weekend and public holiday (including xmas) ? Do it for 20+ years and............you get the idea!

Up at 5.30 am tomorrow, still working now (8.45pm), and will work 30+ hours in 3 days over weekend, and have already done 40 this week. (oh yeah, not forgetting my wife and 18 month old that I'd like to see once in a while...)

No, racing is good in moderation, but it's easy to have enough thanks. Besides, it can be heartbraking too. Sink huge chunks of your life into something, only to see it go up in smoke, or get drilled into the wall...

I'm still in therapy after spending three dream weeks at Michelotto/Fiorano getting the two new 360GT ready for 2002 season, only to get BOTH cars heavily shunted at the very first race!!.... That one took the wind out

 

I'm crying in my soup Admit it, it's your life and you love it. You wouldn't know what to do with yourself if you had all that free time to go shopping with V

 

yeah every now and then i put in 15-20 hour caffiene-fueled days of furious coding... when i finally become unconscious my dreams go something like this...
