Heater hose

Anyone know the size of hose that goes from the main radiator feed pipe to the heater box in the spare tyre area need the ID I want to put in a close off valve. Cheers.

 

1/2 inch is what mine needed (not 5/8 as Superformance show on their site).

I looked everywhere for a suitable close off valve but could not find one. The ones you see on eBay are 3/8 inch (or whatever the metric equivalent is). Also I think that the flow of hot water comes from the engine through the pipes in the middle of the car and then up to the heater from the T-piece near the radiator so the close of valve is best placed in that pipe. Check out the diagram on page 73 of the owners handbook as this shows the direction of the water flow.
