Been lurking round here for a while, but not registered since I've been between cars - but since I've finally gotten delivery of my new motor (Sept 1) and gotten around to registering as well I thought I would start by saying hello.

Now, how do I get me one of those little piccies next to my name?

    Thanks for the welcome.

I'll try and figure out that picture thing in due course.

In any case, it's a Rosso Corsa/Crema 430 Spider and I've done about 650 miles so far.

My previous runabout was a Rosso Corsa/Tessuto 360CS, and I managed about 3.5k miles in the 6 months I had it.

That is good going! Almost took mine on a trip round Europe, but went for a week on the beach instead. Possibly next year.

    Welcome Steve.

So whats the 430 Spyder like compared to the 360CS, chalk and cheese?

    They are a little different.

I liked the 360 CS a lot. Proper rigid sportscar with an angry engine - felt closer to the ground too.

430 Spider is a little soft by comparison. Bit of scuttle shake which I was a bit surprised about. Not used the engine in anger yet, but does feel like it has more grunt low down. Saying that you always feel like you're going faster than you are with the roof off. Much better ground clearance also makes me wince less often.

(Noticed there are a lot of Steves here - more Steve Davis than Steve McQueen too.)

Ah - not been the sharpest tool in the box. Little bit paranoid my whole name was on display!
