Love hot food. There's a Cajun restaurant in Chicago with thousands of hot sauces on the wall. If you bring one in that they don't have, your meal is free.

This isn't exactly a HOT sauce, but a peppery sauce. I work in a TV station. One day a few years ago, we had Paul Prudhomme (or one of his chefs) on our morning show. They left a small bottle of this sauce for the guys here in the engineering department. This bottle didn't last 2 weeks. It was some of the best sauce that I've had. I have never gotten around to ordering any, but I wish that I had a gallon of it.

This one is about the best out there. Not only is it hot as hell, it also actually adds good flavor. I cook with it regularly.

I'm a big fan of teh hotness (even going so far as to grow my own habaneros) but some of that stuff is a little too much. I'd rather swallow some pump gas and light a match. ;)

I saw that Blairs 6 am on the food network once. They were having a hot sauce competition. That stuff is so powerful, only a few people were allowed to test taste it. They also all had to sign a waiver relieving the company of any liability should they in all seriousness die! They were literally shaking after trying just a little dot of it, thats how powerful it is.

That is the only one I've tried of the novelty suaces on the list. Besides some creative packaging and a catchy name, I'd be curious what they really have to offer over good ol' tobasco.

If anyone wants a multi-million dollar business idea, here's one for free:

Develop and get Supermarkets to carry a HOT salsa.

One that is actually somewhat HOT!

Every brand I've tried that is labeled "Hot" is more like a glorified Ragu Sauce.

I've *NEVER* bought any salsa in a supermarket that was remotely hot.

I shudder at the thought of how the "mild" tastes.

Even Taco Bell's "Fire" sauce tastes like tomato paste. What the F#$@ is in their mild sauce? Yuck.

I've had my cooks make truly delicious salsa that is extremely hot also, salsa broha (spelling?) they call it.

I just wish I could buy something like it at the local supermarket instead of going through the pains of making it myself.

I love spicy food, but after experiencing real Sichuan and Hunan food, its not the spice but the pain that hits about 10 hours later when your body tries to reject the oil. Almost sent me to the hospital the last time, I was out of work for 3 days...

Whenever I'm at a restaurant and ask for hot sauce with my mexican food, 90% of the time they look at me w/ apuzzled look and say that all that they have is Tobasco. El Yucateco is one of my favs, It is made from habaneros in Mexico.
