Is a Vignale, but not a Ferrari. I am aware of a Siata like this in Sweden many many years ago, so my first guess is Siata. My second guess would be Lancia, but I don't really think so. Whatever it is, I could drive one!

...the steel wheels & hub caps look familiar, maybe it is an Aurelia after all?

Maybe I'm missing something, but it's an Alfa bulletin board. So maybe it's an Alfa?

It's a Lancia Aurelia 2 liter with a Vignale body. It was at the blackhawk exposition, but sadly it's not listed in the catalog.

Yes, it definitely has Aurelia wheels. Here is a photo of the Siata I was talking about. Quite similar, but far from identical. And yes, it was also mistaken for a Ferrari on several occasions - and yes, I could drive this one too. http://koti.welho.com/kpietil4/siata1.jpg

Thanks for the help. I thought it migh be a Ferrari I was unaware of, mainly because of the shape of the nose.

    hey stu!!
as we seem to be on a alfa/ferrari/lancia/siata tangent, perhaps you could shed some light on the series of spaceship "supersonic" bodies that appeared on several different chassis... [and wasn't one moved onto a cobra chassis of all things??

[oh,i still have the bugatti and just traded a real rusty 356 for a beater 308 gt4...hence my lurking here.]

I'm not sure exactly how many of the "supersonica" bodies were built, but yes, one was chopped up a bit and shortened and wound up on a Cobra chassis.
There are some on Siata/Fiat 8V chassis, one on an Alfa 1900 chassis, one on the Conrero Alfa 1900 powered car with a tube chassis that ran in the 1953 Mille Miglia and still exists, but with a totally different spider body, and one on a Jag (a 140, I think)
