For a carb'd boxer, it makes sense. Would seem to have much benefit on a 348.

Looks like it was done well though.

I like it very much. It's exactly what I need for the throttle body conversion.

The 348 routes cool air via the windows into the air filter box.

Assuming you are going to keep the air filter box in place, you won't be getting cooler air, but you might be able to pick up a few millibars of pressure (and harm the look of the back bonnet at the same time).

now, if you were to put (something like) PiperCross filters in line with a air scoop and duct these directly to the MAF, then you might be able to get soemthing more than a different look.

Not for your car Sy. It sort of works for this BB. The BB doesn't have our intakes so it needs help getting air into the engine. We need a more direct path from the vents to the tbs. We can net efficiency without the distracting bodywork.

I'm planning to take the plenums off this winter and have jenvy throttle bodies put in so it would have worked on that.

But then I realised it would be a big head ache opening the engine lid everytime!!!!

Nice, i believe that's the ex John Foulston car. Lots of BBLM type engine mods underneath too.
