Interior knob

Need some help identifying, what the knob does just behind the gear shift,
to the left.

non standard, must have something to do with an aftermarket immobilizer or alarm

 

I heard some ‘t’s had buttons and lights fitted to make up for it being too expensive to no longer fit the Q.V. onboard computer panel;-) alternatively I have seen garage door openers plumbed in there - as Ste said, aftermarket.

All three of those buttons around the gear shift lever are not standard.

 

Very unusual lining under the dashboard too. That's the first time I see that. Is that US specific?

 

Yes, the knee protectors are US spec part parts.

A lot of the RHD have the ‘dummy’ door part. Always assumed that was an actual glove box (as per the Q.V.), but I think it might actually be just a panel?

I dont know....I am going to go with smoke screen on this one. Or maybe rotating license plate....

 

Knee protectors for what? Just for regulation? It is little what these things protect knowing the cripple zone of these cars!
