Hi, Just thought I would ask in case someone has had a similar problem.

My rev counter and the four small dash gauges (oil, fuel etc) went off today while I was standing in a queue for 30 mins waiting to get into Goodwood (UK) for a breakfast meet. The engine was running, although the car was stationary, then off they went. Just a fuse I thought, no problem.
When I went back to the car to go home, turn the key and all normal. Fine I thought. The problem now is they are on for 30 mins then off for 30. After I got home I checked all the obvious things, but still intermittent. Where do I look for the fault ?

    Any thoughts most welcome.

ps 160 miles, never once stopped raining, cold, windy, crap wipers, but great fun getting the car moving around. I was suprised how easy it is to correct.

Note to self............ slow down in the wet.

Try the connections to the ammeter, had all sorts of problems with my car, and this was the problem, started with your symptoms then it would cut out when ticking over and not have any electrical power, boody pain when in traffic.

Sounds like a earth problem, from memory there is a earth lead on the gauge console. Drop the console off and check.

Mine did this once and i cured the problem by fitting an additional earth strap.
