I finally joined the rest of society and purchased an iPod. Question: Is there a way to download the album covers from CDs other than by purchasing the album from iTunes?

Congrats. I didn't know myself what I was missing out on, before acyually getting one. I love my touch. Great gadget.

I usually just search for the album covers on images.google.com and phaste them into iTunes (right-click song and choose Get Info -> Artwork -> phaste).

First try right clicking the song and choose "get album artwork."

If that doesn't work, go to google or amazon and try the above method mentioned.

Also you can find any questions you have here: http://forums.macrumors.com/forumdisplay.php?f=75

Ok...that was a little too easy. Thanks for the help. I got one of the new nano 8g players. Very cool. But I think I'll get different ear buds. The standard ones don't fit my ears too well.

Here is a good place to do research.

    http://www.headphone.com/products/headphones/in-ear-monitor/

I wouldn't buy from them since they are little over priced, but they have great info on ear headphones.

    Two more questions:

    1) When the computer says it can't find the cover art, how do you import it from one of the other sites?

    And,

    2) What kind of cool protective covers have you come across? I've got the nano 4

I simply click and drag images from google into the album art section in the bottom left that pops up while a song is playing. Seems to work for me!

Welcome to Apple! Easy is about the norm here.

As for head phones, I have a dozen of them as I hate them too. I recommend Bang & Olufsen. I am on my secound set in 5 years and that is only because the first ones were stolen this year.

Go to Wal-Mart, or the Apple Store.
It depends on how rugged you want, or how 'pretty' you want, the best case I found when I was looking was at the Apple
store. Yeah, it cost a little more, but it was worth it.

Next question is, will you use it in your car ? And if so, how will you hook it up ?

I use this: You may have to go to Radio Shack and get a double-male wire, though ($5)
