Ok, so maybe it's arriving only tomorrow. But I'm a tad bit excited, and want to get all the cool do-hickeys and add-on accessories. I know there are a ton of programs, but name me some of your favorites.

In terms of hardware, what are your thoughts on:

    - Bluetooth enabled headset (some cool choices available here)
    - Screen protectors (necessary?)
    - Others?

    Software favorites:

    - MobiTv
    - Others?

    Thanks for the input.

The ONLY bad news I have about the Treo 650 is the bluetooth functionality is basically non-existant. I've gone through 3 bluetooth headsets, and have not found a single one that provides anything CLOSE to the quality of a standard $20 wired headset.

The problem is that bluetooth uses analog radio signals, and the BT radio on the 650 is weak, weak, weak. That means with every headset I've used there is an unacceptible level of pops, clicks, static, and noise, unless you are literally holding the 650 to your ear (and then, what's the point?).

So I would actually suggest staying away from the bluetooth headset unless you have a fondness for shortwave radio signals (shhhshshshhsHello?shshshshPOPshshhhshshhshsh)

I don't know about the Treo, but I use a Motorola 850 (bluetooth head set) with my Motorola V710. Except for the anyoying big button to press, the audio quality is *very* good.

Yeah, unfortunatly the bluetooth issue is Treo-specific, and doesn't really affect any other phones...

The Jabra BT250, don't get the aftermarket but the one specifically made for the 650 (993GUY) got on off Ebay, I've been using it since December, I'm on it 3000 minutes a month works perfect. Not long range but while the phone is on my dash or within 6-8 feet it's perfect. Not as good as a wired one but close (I have both) I can't deal with wires anymore.

The Jabra is the best headset you can get and I've tried quite a few for the 650. As apps are concerned, let's meet up for lunch soon and I can "beam" you a bunch of cool stuff that should hold you over until you see Merdav. He's the KING of TREO applications and knows just about everything you can possibly do with the thing. It'll make your head spin...

Oh, and you'll need a 1GB memory card when you catch up with MERDAV...lots o' stuff to put on there. :)
