No mention of this on Fchat? There has to be someone who watches the NFL?

PS: Met him at a food show for a vitamin he was promoting. I don't think he never stopped smiling the moment he walked in the convention center. Seemed like a decent representative to a sport in world filled with Sammy Sosa's, Big Macs, Barry Bonds, John Rockers, Latrell Spreewells.

Nothing that's why it's in OT. Without knowing much of his background he seemed to be a great role model.

Amazing athlete at 42 (how many people can make that long). I know rumors are that he needed the money, after gettind divorced a few years ago.

While I do respect him, I do think he should of done his retirment another way.

Calling it quits after finding out that your 4th string on a brand new team? After 21 years, he should of made a deal with San Fran, been a reciever on his original team and then had a going away ceremony at a SF home game. Someone with his accompishments and number of records needs to call it quits with a big bang IMO

Same goes for Joe Montana. I never could figure out why he retired at KC. I fully expect the Niners to retire Jerry's number just as they did Joe's.

Jerry Rice is a hell of a nice guy. He lives right behind where I went to HS (atherton) and recently I had driven into the campus to go check up on some old teachers. As I was leaving a I heard a "Nice Car!" shouted from... you guessed it, JR himself. He was picking up Jerry junior from school and we had a quick chat about f-cars.

All that aside, it's well known that he's a class act. Maybe he should have retired earlier, but he's still an absolute legend!

A great player, probably the best Wide Reciever there ever was.
