Great shots of a gorgeous car. We had a great turnout today at C&C.

Bob - You have captured the moment. Joe's 458 looks amazing. The only better way to appreciate the car is behind the wheel.

Awesome pictures Bob! Do you use HDR on your photos by any chance?

Geezus Bob, maybe you and Joe should get a room. At least maybe you can wipe the drool off of Joe's car??

Oh and did I see it parked in front of Algar late yesterday? I think Francis was going over it with a paint meter. :D

No Anthony, I don't use HDR. I shoot everything in raw and then balance each channel as I believe my eye sees it. Most photographs do not even approximate the density range we see with our eyes. I try to reach a happy medium between what our eye sees and what we generally are used to from the old film days.
I don't really like HDR programs, but I do like to bring up the shadows quite a bit. With the mottled light coming through the trees in some of those pictures if I left digital to it's own devices you would have to either show the highlights or shadows on the web. Neither of those would have fairly conveyed the beauty of the light on the car in that forrest.

Sorry Dave . Some cars are like beautiful women to me. I never get tired of photographing them. Always trying to take a better shot.
Unlike everyone else here I can't afford to ever buy another one, so I have to get my pleasure through a lens.

What you did to the 'shade' photos makes them look more like acrylic paintings than photos. I like your style and interpretation.

Bob, Dave wants you to do a photo shoot of his car. You just need to read between the lines.

    Thanks Don.
All he would have to do is ask. Hell I only get a chance to shoot in the wild with these cars so often. I don't usually shoot much at Starbucks anymore because the backgrounds get boring to me. Every pic I take seems to have a Kermit the frog bronco in the background.
There are so many car shots on this forum now you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a dozen photographers. I don't even have a website or plaster my .com name in two inch letters across every picture. I guess I'm just old school.

    Ugh.

My titanio grigio car is boring photographic material.

Besides, I'd have to wash it first. :D

Bob, you have a special gift. Although they're all beautiful, I especially like #5 and #6. Wow!

Are you the person who made Joe's "photo book" of his white one? That thing was awesome!

I need someone like you need to teach me how to use my new toy = Nikon 7000.... I'm a total newby to anything beyond point-and-shoot but even in full-on-idiot-auto-mode it takes pictures far beyond anything I've ever done before.

I guess I really should read the manual before I go asking experts to lend me their time...lol

Yes, I did the book for Joe. Glad you like it. If you need some help, let me know. I'm often at C&C and would be glad to chat. I would recommend sitting down with the manual for a couple of hours and getting very familiar with every control. Actually go page by page and change settings as they recommend, Thai a few pictures and see in real life what the changes do. Once you get a handle on that start trying to envision what you would like a picture to look like and then figure out to accomplish that. At that point you stop taking pictures and start creating images. Good luck.
