More appealing to me than the 911. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just bought a 997S and I have to say, I hope this doesn't come out for a while, it looks too good. The handling should be more neutral, it should be a blast to drive! I love the red shot posted below. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
They should call this new car: Porsche 911S. They should be calling the new and current Carrera simply the 997 Carrera and seperate it from the 911 name. The current 997/Carrera/911 is a far cry from what the original 911s were. The 911 was originally a pure bred, no nonesense SPORTS CAR that gave incredible driver feedback and great performance but was less focused on luxury and comfort. The 997 is so far off from that concept I dont feel it even deserves the name. The 997 is closer to the 928 than to the real 911s. But this new coupe.... its smaller, lighter, is focused on performance more and it even looks closer to the original 911s than the 997 does. This little coupe with 300hp is going to be PCA club racers dream! So.... the big question: What is MSRP and how fast will they depreciate? I am hoping they sell in Boxster like numbers and suffer Boxster like depreciation. I love my Boxster S, but if I can get one of these in 4-5 years for $30K the wife can have the Boxster and Ill drive this new hotty! Terry
What makes the 997 so much more luxurious than say a 996 or Boxster? Porsche usually introduces a more bare bone version after a few years like the RS, club sport or GT3 variation for customers like yourself...
