What makes this more curious is that Maseratis are good cars in their own right. It's almost like putting a merc badge on a BMW or vice versa - or almost like putting a ferrari badge on a lambo.

 

Perhaps he is acknowledging where the engine comes from?

 

I've seen worse. In LA about a year ago I saw badges on a Kia.

 

I missed the badge initially due to the hideous wheels!

 

I thought you were talking about the gangsta wheels.

 

Wheels aren't that bad (wouldn't do it myself...but could have been 28'' dunkatronic kinda stuff you sometimes see in the states). I actually think that these wheels wouldn't look all that bad if the car was in black.

Badge is a different story. What a pillock.

 

The badge was 1st used on a Maser before they were put on the F cars

 

Ya know what's funny about this... how meaningless it is.

Ok, let's say you don't know Ferrari's or Maserati's -- you're just an average Joe. To you, they all look a like. You can't tell one from another. Well, you have no idea what that badge means because all you see is the big MASERATI script at the back.

Now, let's say you do know about Ferrari's and Maserati's -- you're an enthusiast or an owner. You look at this and just laugh your but off or are appauled.

So, just what is the purpose? On one side there is nothing to gain and on the other you lose all respect.

Do ya think we should tell him or just let him ride around in his shame?

The wheels are much worse than the badge since the 4P has a Ferrari engine..

Wheels are much worse than the badge, at least it is Ferrari powered and has ties to Ferrari.

 

He's got the wheels and badges, he must be saving up for side pipes and the wing on the back.

 

Those wheels are indeed hideous! They wouldn't last more than a few kilometers here in the S.F.Bay Area with the roads we have...

Things like this never cease to amaze me.
You can find examples like this from a lot of automobile owners.
I've seen lots of BMW owners slap an ///M badge on their non-M car.
I just don't get it. You have to have pretty low self-esteem to do something like this.

As mentioned, Maserati doesn't need a Ferrari shield to separate itself from other marques. I am puzzled by the decision of this owner.

 

Where did you see this car? Although I personally don't prefer it myself, I just admit that this is one of the things that make being an auto enthusiast interesting (seeing people customize their vehicles for the best or in this case,for the worst).
