    I purchased a set of three door and ignition keys from them but I'm always a little nervous turning them, especially in the ignition as they seem more fragile than the stock keys. I decided to put my original keys away to save them and not risk losing them and that's one reason I got so many made. Having read threads where keys broke in the ignition, I'm concerned it might happen one day. I notice on there website the explanation of brass versus steel and I'm pretty sure they are steel while the originals are brass. The write up there seems to indicate the steel is stronger, but I'm not convinced.

    I know many others have used them, should I be concerned and which keys are the strongest?

    Steel is stronger than brass. If your keys are brass, you will see the yellow brass color where they were cut; if they are steel, they will be the same color all the way through.

    If I were concerned, I would sacrifice one of the keys in experimentation to see how strong they are. Worth the $9 or whatever KforC charges.

    What brand are the keys? I've never had a bad experience with Silca or Ilco copies; they have always been of standard quality.

    I have been using my keys from keysforclassics for ~6 months with no problems.

    they are fine, have 3 keys from them no problems over 3 years

    I wouldn't worry about the keys.........now the ignition tumblers that is another matter. Don't ask me how I know.

    I have a set from them, been using it for about 3 or 4 years. Work great, no problems. I don't have the keys with me so I cannot tell you if they are brass or steel, but I believe they are steel.

    Used a set of his keys going on 5 years in the Dino without incident. New owner is, I suspect, still using them now.

    Original Dino keys are steel, replacements are not. Most key cutters don't want to work with steel keys in their machine, or so I am told.

    I have a set from Keys4Classics. They are brass -- you can tell by the cut edge. They work great, although I've had them <1 year.

    My ignition switch turns easily, so I doubt it would break off.

    My guess is the softer brass keys may actually cause less wear and tear within the ingnition mechanism. Softer metal=less wear.
