I know this isnt breaking news, but I finally got my 1:12 Kyosho F40 last month, and the wheels just didnt look great to me. I wanted to see more contrast between the polished and painted portions, so I sent my wheels to a shop that does vacuum chrome plating. When I got them back they looked fantastic. All I had to do was detail the centers with bright aluminum silver paint. I even used a cloth to add fine scour scratches to simulate the look of the polished lips. Much better IMHO.... what do you guys think?

    Greg,

The wheels look truly awesome! I also have this great model at home, and just thought the same about the wheels lately. May I ask what you paid for the chroming?

    Hi Ramon,
The plating cost me $20 USD plus postage within USA. I now regret not snapping before/after pix so you cld compare the difference.
