If he got rear ended, it's the other guy's insurance that will most likely pay for the car to be returned to the condition it was in prior to the loss. How unfortunate.

You misunderstood my point. I am well aware how insurance works. I meant to say (and should have clarified) that I wonder how they will value his car. In theory, they could pay for a Toyota Supra (whatever year his car is). Then again with all the mods, I wonder if its considered much less valued than a Supra or much more. So I was curious how the insurance would value his car (the other parties insurance).
And you missed my point. They will pay to have the car restored to the condition it was in just before the accident. That means mods and all. And that's unfortunate. IMO, of course.
