Nice car,Save yourself a trip to Europe, beeing the $ down to Euro, this shold fetch more than estimate, we will se,
thank's for the info. An interesting LP400 with that color and history. I'm curious about the auction result!
A carburetted 25th Anniversario, just what I need! FWIW the interior should be "Tabacco" (the classic reddish-brown leather used in many LP400) and not the Cream color it currently has. I'm very surprised this one is back on the block so soon, perhaps the marriage didn't work with its TV Shark Tank owner, that said it's looking a lot rougher than when I last saw it just 2 years ago 1976 Lamborghini Countach LP 400 'Periscopio' | Monterey 2015 | RM Sotheby's when it sold for $1,320,000, I'll be shocked if it brings anywhere near that this time. Meanwhile the color is one of the best on an LP400 IMO.
Love Tahiti blue, but more so on the flared cars, the true original periscopo lp400 i m h o looks better i a non metalic color. That beeing said, beautiful car
Shark Tank ratings are down? I was surprised to hear this car placed 2nd at Pebble. A few things point to more of a refresh than restoration?
I don't get involved in Concours Politics so I can't say why it placed 2nd, but I agree, it was refreshed @ 15-20 years ago IIRC when Ayad S owned it.
They are retrofit items, the type of which we have seen in a number of cars where the small adjustable circular vents are replaced with larger rectangular vents. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I own the lowest mile 25th anniversary countach. Delivery miles only, 89 red/tan USA spec car. Ideas on it's value? Thx Eric
There are quite a few 25th with delivery mileage. These cars were built & delivered during the sportcar/classiccar bubble in the late 80s/early 90s. Many of them were bought and stored as an investment. Shortly after the bubble bursted and many owners realized that they bought the cars too pricey so they stored the cars for long time to get their investested money back. The price depends on the condition, maintance and how the car was stored over the last decades.
I personally know of @ 3 other delivery miles 25th Anniversario here in the USA alone, so it stands to reason there are quite a few more as I don't know them all. FWIW one of the cars I know is a beautiful Bianco Perlato car with dark blue leather piped in white and dark blue carpeting. My California friend bought it for his wife 27 years ago, and it remains in their collection of @ 30 vintage cars & race cars. He paid $375,000 in 1990. It literally has not moved. Correct.
Believe it's a nice car for sure! What's the exact mileage? Did you purchase it yourself when new back in 1989? Any pics you would like to share?
I'll dig up a pic of the cluster, I think 236kms is what it reads. It's been well taken care of, one chip on the front from a transport (was there when I bought it) I'm the 2nd owner. Chain of custody is intact. Books I'm not sure what I have. Car has been climate controlled stored since new. I'm in London now, I made that post quickly the othe day, I will be much more active here in a few weeks just on holiday right now. I met Joe sackey back in 99, not sure he remembers me. Roy knows me. I have 5 lambos now. 2 DiabloGTR, SE30, 25th, 2017 SV. Best Eric Petersen
Eric, of course I remember you, my memory is not perfect, but its not bad either! Has it been almost 20 years? London town, what a place to be.
I know Eric and he is a standup guy for sure. I think he beat me to buying the 89 anniversary car by a few hours when it came up for sale some years ago... It was a fantastic car, just couldnt get to the owner at the time faster the Eric LOL
Delivery miles were about 80-150Km, depending how much had to be corrected and how many times Vale or his colleague Cesare Lodi had to retest the car.
