You mean highly engineered and sophisticated platforms at a premium that still don't cover cost? That's the sad truth of their history. Nowadays it's ever more expensive to develop a car due to all the technology and regulations required. No way they can survive that unless they're a rebadged car from a larger group. In my opinion their quickest savior is being a more luxury oriented alternative to Alfa Romeo (assuming they stay in FCA).

Exactly, what made Lancia a great brand was that it wasn't a great company - it built fabulous cars that didn't make much economic sense. Makes it more special, if you ask me...

You tend to forget the classic era of innovative and beautifully made cars. I'm thinking of the Aurelia and Flaminia of course. I just bought this beauty!

If fiat was as succesfull as VW, Lancia could have been their corresponding Audi, Alfa similarly to Porsche and Maserati their own Bentley. Wishful thinking, I know.

The entire production, 1906-1993, amounts to less than 7 millions samples.

Fantastic! I love that car, it is an example of quintessential italian design for me. Love it.

At least Lancia is not completely dead and it’s still mentioned in some new tunes’ lyrics :)
