Ferrari has halted production of the F430. The last F430 willl be auctioned off for charity

The last F430 will be built this year (no kidding ) but it will be auctioned to help the quake victims in Abruzzo/Aquila. It's a good cause. Now if I only had the money to get that car. It will certainly be a collectible.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of the gold stripe, but the wheels look nice.

I think they are only referring to the coupe. My guess is the spider, 16m and scud will go on a bit longer.

 

For the USA there are no more 430's of any model being built after July 2009. Last month FNA sent a letter to all US dealers notifying them that production is over at the end of July.

My understanding is there still won't be a replacement (available) for at least another year and a half to two years. Ferrari will push the California until that time comes. We'll find out officially soon enough.

Ferrari contributes to rebuilding the Abruzzo region after the devastating earthquake

Maranello, 12 May 2009 – Ferrari has announced that it will offering a very special car at the RM Auction due to be held this coming Sunday. The car, the very last F430 to leave the production line towards the end of this year, will be auctioned to raise funds for rebuilding in Abruzzo, central Italy, which was devastated by the earthquake on the 6th of April. Ferrari will liaise with the local authorities to ensure that the funds will go towards the most needy.

The F430 will feature a special two-tone livery which recalls the traditional colors of Aquila, the city most hit, and will be consigned with a certificate signed by Ferrari Chairman, Luca di Montezemolo, with a personalized dedication plate to commemorate the generous donation.

The client adjudicating the car will be invited to Maranello to choose the final specifications and Ferrari has also offered to equip the car with a number of options from its extensive Carrozzeria Scaglietti catalogue.

I like the stripe a lot more than the wheels.

This picture is not of the actual car. It appears that at the auction you will be buying the last production car that does not get built until November or December of this year. Delivery may not be until early 2010.

Ferrari has NOT yet stopped production of the F430. The replacement is rumored to be shown at a car show later this year, likely Geneva.

 

Geneva takes place in March. The rumour initially was that the replacement would be shown at Frankfurt or Paris which take place in the latter part of the year. Subsequent rumours are that this may be delayed until Geneva next year.

 

I'm glad that only the correct rumors are now circulating.
