    so im trying to get my little laptop online and i cant seem to get a connection going. When i go into the configuration panel and switch wireless mode to Ad-hoc, i can get a signal, but when i switch it to infrastructure, it goes red. Im assuming the reason its getting a green signal when its switched on adhoc is cause its picking up my neighbors signal? any thoughts on what i might of done wrong?

    You can just go into your network connections - go to "view wireless networks" - you can see how many "it" is seeing - select the one you want - and hit connect. I would just set it to get available networks instead of infrastructure...
