I don't live in Los Feliz, but i'm not too far away. I'm in Burbank.
I've only been on the road that leads from the zoo to the 134 freeway.

I lived in Los Feliz for 6 years, close enough to corner of Vermont and Frankin to christen intersection as "Vermin." Are you enjoying the nightly scent of skunks? Also lots of coyotes and raccoons 'round these parts, even an occasional deer (or two or three) sighting - if you know where to look.

I moved a couple of miles West oh, 3 or 4 years ago, N. of Frankin this time around. If you opt to have the sun at your back later in the day, and by default, leave looser soil on the other side of the road, go up Fern Dell Canyon instead of Vermont or Hillhurst. Take it easy past Ranger Station on the left @ corner of (I believe) Red Oak which is just past the uh, grassy knoll. Every street is named "Oak" in that neighborhood & FWIW, don't bother venturing into the Oaks unless you enjoy wandering slowly, aimlessly and very possibly - hopelessly lost.

It's a fun drive, but best to venture "cautiously" a few times before pushing it a little harder, as there's plenty to be wary of: loose rock and dirt slides, Rangers, Critters, young and old 'uns, sightseeing tourists, joggers... Breaking News on channels 2, 4, 5, 7, 9...

    Have fun!
