Had an 85 in Jupiter Red (dark metallic red), buckskin interior. Wish I had never sold it-which applies to every car I've owned I guess-but I'm really sad about this one. Bought it used, but with only a few thousand on it (<7500).

Loved the car. It was a dream come true. I have pictures of me looking at an Esprit at a car show when I was in my early teens.

Had no problems at all with the car. One thing, mine was a turbo four cylinder, as they all were from that year, the exhaust note on start up was not very inspiring. I don't and didn't care. But it wasn't an impressive car on startup-these days I guess you could get an aftermarket exhaust. Just trying to remember anything that wasn't great about the car.

I've noticed I like a lot of things designed by Giugiaro (he's even designed guns that are cool Beretta/Storm).

The car's performance was not aggressive. Strong but not in a raw way. The ride was very good, really good suspension I thought. Handled well at speed, but didn't crush you in the city. I was very happy...sigh.

Any and every Lotus is a great car to drive. The early S1 and S2 esprits were so light, balanced and nimble handling even without the kick that the turbo added later. Never been in the V8. Have driven, Europa, Elan, M100 Elan, Elise, Excel, Super 7...love them all.

I had a '94 S4 and currently have an '03 V8 for sale. They are the best bang for the buck out there. They are rare and draw a crowd where ever you go. They handle like they are on rails but don't jar your teeth out over bumps. The performance will take your breath away (both acceleration and deceleration). They are much less costly to maintain than other super cars (Ferraris, Lambos, Maseratis) They also have a usable trunk and american A/C and my V8 will get 30mpg on the hwy!

    Now for my plug . . . $46k . . . 14.5k miles
