Just done a 200 mile motorway round trip to see my folks and the noise of my car at certain speeds was really getting on my tits. It's a loud drone like a resonance that sounds like it's coming from the air intake/air box. This occurs at about 3000rpm which corresponds to between 70-80mph in 5th. This is nothing new (had car 18 mnths) but I hardly ever do motorway journeys in the 'rrari so not normally an issue. Noise disappears by 3500 rpm.

Do all gt4's (or all 308s for that matter) do this?

Due to travel to Newcastle in May so would be interested to know if there is any way to reduce the drone noise.

Andy ..... it would be worth posting this thread in the "Technical Q & A" section, on the main menu.
there is a wealth of experience on matters similar to this, in the US.
    cheers, d

Apparently, you are able to fit such a device to "12 cylinder cars" it provides entertainment to the occupiers when being "blown into the weeds" by "lesser" V8 models!
Question..........if the flat twelve engine is THAT good, why on earth did Ferrari decide to bin it in favour of the V12?........................................... and why do all Testarossa drivers wear orange underpants?

thats simple to solve all the old school proper ferrari owners can drive and handle a 12 cylinder car
Its all the newbies IE dot.com millionare's, drug dealers, city traders, yuppies, that cant handle the power so they reduced the engine to 8 cylinders and for the total tossers that cant drive they made them automatic and called them F1 gearbox and a sport button
if you are at silverstone i will take you for a ride in a PROPER 12 CYLINDER FERRARI with no buttons or traction control just sheer power and grunt

Theoretically correct! Alas the top speed of the persuing petrol bowser is 56mph ! We all know that a 12 cyl requires "in-flight " refeulling every 100 metres and therefore will snap the connecting fuel hose and run out of petrol long before it reaches it's top speed!:D
