    thanks

ps: I'm not familiar with the 348 suspension , but is it possible to lower it
with its stock socks/springs ? or do you need an aftermarket coilover ?

    thanks

how could you possibly lower a 348 lower than it is from the factory - and why would you want to?? i tear the nose off mine all the time and rip the underside to shreds. wish it sat higher.

    What he said.

However, you'd need to lower it to get the 'correct' look if you put on 19" because the thin profile of the tyres will make the car look 'lifted'. Not advisable as stated in the above post. My 348 driving friends always complain of grounding....and that's stock!!

I'm pretty sure the 348 didn't come with socks. Those came on later models.

I saw a lowered 348 at Karrera Motorsports in West Palm Beach, Florida a few weeks ago. Did not get any pictures of it though. They said they were going to bring it back up because they thought it looked better stock. It did have 19" aftermarket wheels on it.

348's can be manually lowered by the existing factory adjustments on the shock towers. You can lower the front, or the rear, or both as desired.

Drop 'em down for the track or a show...raise 'em back up to drive on public roads.

No aftermarket equipment is required to raise or lower your 348.

Click on my profile to see mine...the front sits 13 CM from the pavement...wouldn't want anything any lower than that while driving on public roads, though.

Most Ferrari's will benefit perforance wise and visually from a slight lowering. However, for driving with a lower than stock ride height, it may be best to increase spring rates.

How exactly does the lowering process work???

I've read the worshop manual that says to loosen the nut, and I purchased the giant spanner from Ricambi to accomplish this... BUT the larger nut stays in place & is too firm to turn by hand.

Do I need another, larger spanner? What am I doing wrong?

    Any help is appreciated.

The larger nut that stays in place is the one that lowers or raises the car.
It turns the whole shock body.

I think turning the nut clockwise is to lower the car, and counterclockwise raises it ?

I realized that, after using the spanner to loosen the smaller nut.

But HOW do you turn the bigger nut? It won't budge by hand. It looks to require ANOTHER spanner, which I can't find on Ricambi :(
