    CBS Sunday Morning had an interesting feature today.

    51% of any bourbon has to be corn, the rest can come from other grains (rye, etc).

    MM is aged in new American oak and the barrles are toasted to give MM the caramel and other flavors. the used barrels are sold to Scotland and scotches are age in the barrels for added flavor.

    I find this to be a good "mixer" bourbon. There are now so many high quality bourbons that Maker's doesn't rate in the top any longer. Still a good bourbon, though. You might also try Woodford Reserve.

    I'd never heard of Maker's Mark until I found a couple bottles my mother stashed in her home years ago. I haven't tried any yet.

    For the $ here in Pa. Makers is the best bang for the buck. Yes I love Woodford Res. but it is more cash, by about 1/3rd. I used to drink Woodford exclusively when I owned my bar/restaurant, but at home it's all Makers Mark baby!

    Maker's Mark is good, I'll give you that, but you haven't had a bourbon until you have sipped some Pappy Van Winkle.

    Markers is pretty good. I've started to drink it again, but only straight in a snifter. Somehow it seems a little too sweet "on the rocks" as the ice melts...JMO, (plus it goes down way to fast over ice =)

    Makers is in my regular rotation.

    Woodford is my #1, but the rest are good anytime they are available
