    Hey guys,
I just found this recall on the Maser Quattroportes. The link that I saw can be found here http://www.classactionamerica.com/recalls/displayRecall.asp?recallId=5050
Just figured I would share.... It really sucks to have your doors open going down the road, I had it happen once, and had to jump from the back seat to the front to save my baby sister(in a car seat at the time) from falling out. Enjoy your day!!

Is it so bad? Sounds more like the door lock not the door itself.
Amazing to believe there could be an electrical gremlin on an italian car ;)

    Cheers

Actually, the doors have an electric release (with a mechanical backup release). When the electric switch is triggered, the door will open.

thanks for the post. i like the electric door switch.
i wonder how long it takes for Maserati NA or the dealer to contact me on this.

actually what i really don't like is how the door just swings out too quickly all the way. not much finesse when the door just swings wide open.

also i kind of miss the soft close doors - how much weight and cost would it have incurred? they have soft close on the trunk so why not on the doors.

It's only the first 50 or so cars in the US. If you fall into that category, you should hear from them.
