There's a thread in the dedicated McLaren subforum if you scroll farther down.

Thank you. I posted this thread here because only a fraction of people visit the McLaren forum on Fchat (I frankly didn’t know it existed) but more so because the new Senna is in the supercar category.

My thought is that it's ugly. The exhaust outlet looks like a dog's butt when it bends over. Hideous. I would think the Senna estate would not have signed off on this.

Agreed. From a Ferrari aficionados perspective, I think the Senna is hideous. A few thoughts:

    - For those that like McLaren design, I would think they would love this. To their credit, like their design patterns or not (I don’t), McLaren has created a very distinctive style that continues similar themes. They have their market and they are wise to continue offering designs that appeal to that market.

    - The focus on their evolutionary look is good for Ferrari, who’s designs reflect a much more elegant and classic look while still being appropriately aggressive.

    - Where Ferrari (and Lamborghini) have very unique designs across the various cars in their portfolio, McLarens cars seem to share a very similar look, albeit the bumps and flairs get a bit more extreme when the price tag goes up. I’m all for bumps and flairs, believe me, but all within a classic theme.

Horrible. Just horrible. I'm sad it's called the Senna...if there was one car that deserved a crappy alphanumeric POS name it was this one..

While it seems the Super Series does not work McLaren makes itself slowly but surely ridiculous with his pathological hunt for the extremes and the exaggerated urge to create or occupy completely meaningless market niches. I'm worried about McLaren.

I’m a massive McLaren and love what they are doing,** flame suit on!

But this....this is utterly tragic. Unless it’s very different in the flesh than in the photos that was a huge miss. I suppose if it goes out a crushes everything around it then it will certainly gain back some credibility but ****ing hell its just so UGLY!

I don't like the design But I respect the design cuz all out extreme Aero can never be pretty
And the task of this car was all out track car so it fits the purpose. Man that wing is huge

Oh my God...that's an epic fail. I expected McLaren to do something more beautiful...to pay tribute to the great Senna.

    Ungly as f**ck....

Without commenting on the asthetics, there is reason to believe that there are longer-term objectives here such as making a low production run of a platform that can be homologated for GT sportscar racing. Could Mac be headed back to LeMans?

At least this logo would be symmetrical and not a weird version of a Nike swoosh.

I think its the most fantastic new car to come along maybe since the F50. Its supremly light its form following function. We want a raw light trackable car, here it its.

From a design perspective, It would certainly be much better with:

    1 - better color scheme
2 - active aero instead of that ridiculous wing
3 - losing the silly gimmicky door panel windows

All this talk of form following function is utter garbage. The pinnacle of form following function are lmp1 and lmp2 cars. They all, without exception, look stunning compared to this abomination.

Let’s call it what it really is - a 720 which had a fight with a giant ugly stick and lost.

My God, The 720s IS JUST A WONDERFUL WORK OF ART!:D
I guess the skies the limit when I want to sell the 720 .
I think like others have said its more of a race car function THAN form, I think its kooky but remember its a million dollar race/street car?
There will always be a seat in a billionaires collection for this.
I'm not going to lose sleep, hey at least its not a v6.......

You’re a good dude Joey but your 720S won’t be appreciating in value.
