Seems a bit mudane asking about an MG from my brief perusal of this forum, but here goes.
I have a soft spot for MGs. I have the opportunity to pick up a '72 MGB with 13k original miles for 10 grand. Yes, it runs and there is nothing wrong with it. It belongs to an aquaintance of mine, whi has owned it for a few years. I have been looking for an excuse to get a 4 poster lift. So, waddya think?

MGBs can be had for $2K - $6K and up depending on the level of restoration.

Look here for info: http://www.mgexperience.net http://www.britishcarforum.com

    Here for parts: http://www.mossmotors.com http://www.victoriabritish.com

$10K may be a bit high depending on what has been fixed, replaced or modified. Typically all the rubber parts will be shot or near shot so you will need to replace all suspension parts, brake parts, motor mounts, etc. And then there's the rust....

What I did was buy a $5K car with no rust and a good engine, replaced all the old stuff, added overdrive, performance carb and exhaust, lots of new small parts to increase reliability and ended up with a $13K car (which I sold 2 years later for $6.5K)

10 is alot of $$ for one nowdays, but the mileage might justify, IF you never drive it. If you want to cruise around, get one for $6000, they are all over. Here is my wife's '64.

OR, you could go the way of the white one and install a V8 :)

Either way, you do need to proceed with the 4 post lift!
