Hi all, is the mirror glass (OEM style) replaceable? If so who stocks them? Any side of the pond if need be will do here.

if you are talking wing mirrors: BMW does.

The Mondial mirror glass is the same as an old (eigthies) 6-series.

I scored one on eBay for 12€. Fits like a glove.

Hi Bart thanks for that. Who'd have thought a beemer glass would fit! You get top marks for that mate :)

Stefan, I think you mean a complete mirror assembly. It's just the glass I need. So I'll see if Barts suggestion works before I replace the whole unit. I did go to superformance and eurospares I didn't find anything there. I'll call them tomorrow just to see if a replacement glass is a stock item and if so what it costs. However these two companies have a way of always saying "No sorry" to me ... we'll see if they can actually sell me something more than cam belts and an air filter this time.

I got the glass today. Is there a way to get behind the glass to remove the old one? How do I get the glass off the frame? Will some hair-dryer heat do it or is violence needed?

    Thanks
