What happens if you swap the coil lead with 5-8? Does the problem move?

The rotor may look okay but how are the points on the cap? It sounds like you need a new cap and rotor.

have you swapped the caps over? its an easy way to check if the caps worn out

you could also try swapping the ignition ECU's over...mounted low on the passenger compartment firewall by the clutch slave cylinder

When you "checked the lead from the distributor cap" does this mean that you actually confirmed a low DC resistance measured between the coil wire metal terminal end that goes into the coil and the brass terminal inside the dist cap that holds the carbon brush/spring?

IMO, with the symptom you report, it wouldn't hurt to remove the carbon brush/spring and the setscrew holding the coil wire, trim off the coil wire at the old pierce hole, reinsert, and repierce with the setscrew (and then measure the DC resistance to confirm OK -- should be something like 700 ohms/ft of wire length if using the stock F wires).
Also gives you a chance to confirm that the carbon brush is in good shape and free to move properly.

check the supressor resistance .check for a white powdery substance around the plug connection area.is this the type that screws out of the lead. but 4 at once.did it do it suddenly or slowly deteriorated.hasnt got wet has it.check connector plugs maybe.injector earths on that bank.blank off brake booster pipe connection.could be a major vacuum leak causing a lean mixture.hard to say.funny its on that side .havent put any plugs in and then problem developed(closed gaps--wrong firing order) cars eh. what do you know about f1s. kidding . cars eh. they all go in the end.

Each bank has its own ecu controled by its own crank position sensor. They run as to total different systems. If you feel the need to start swapping things round swap the ecu plugs over (on baulkhead left and down low).
