So Martin you no longer have a mondial at all?
No, I always wanted a Ferrari and finally managed to get one last year. Business was very good when I bought it but the recession has affected everything and I am not making the money that I did in 2009. I paid out about £2500 on the Ferrari in 12 months and I had no money left to spend on it, you cannot run a Ferrari with no money in the bank.... So I had to sell it , but it has gone to a good home and I have bought a Lotus Elise instead which is a great little car, it's no Ferrari of course, but maintenance costs are much lower Also it was cheaper to buy of course so I've been able to clear some outstanding finance agreements as well. Well we'll all miss your blue face, pop in from time to time and dont be a stranger. Good luck and enjoy that Lotus.
Hi Martin, I'm assuming then, that you had to buy your tool kit separately, just as the buyer of your Mondial would have to do. If that was not the case for you, wouldn't you agree that it shouldn't be the case for him. The tool kit came with the car - the tow hook is in the kit - the space saver wheel was not an option. Cheers, Hank
When I bought the Mondial last year it came with a half empty tool kit which I sold on and replaced with the one I just sold here. After a while I decided to buy a spare wheel so eventually obtained a Ferrari space saver and then I needed a jack etc so bought a Ferrari jacking kit from Eurospares. I also bought a spare wheel hold down bolt. In addition I bought a tow hook as the one in the Mondial tool kit did not fit my car, it fouled on the bumper and I needed a longer one. Oh, and a tin of tyre foam as well just in case. So I supplied over £700 of genuine Ferrari tools/spare wheel with the car. The Mondial t was I believe supplied with a spare wheel in some markets. I did it mainly for usefulness. If I got a puncture I wanted to be sure I could get home. The guy who bought my Ferrari wanted the tool kit as well, so I've just sold it to him for £250 including postage....much less than I paid for it.
Gotcha.............true, a spare wheel was available as an option for the Mondial, but it was a standard rim configuration, not a space saver. I actually bought an earlier space saver spare along with a spacer (to clear the ABS) but have since sold them. Cheers, Hank
Well, the guy has everything now so he should be OK. If the car comes up for sale in the future and I'm better off I'll buy it back.....I love the Mondial t.
Hey that's cool. After over a month of trying to buy it here - even bidding on it via eBay UK - I guess I can figure out that I am not going to get it now. I tried to get that little bugger but like Hank I am glad to see that it stuck with the car. Rough note to the Australian guy though You Lotus guys are tough.
Well I'm not going to name him so I cut him some slack there. It's just that he's ignored me since offering to buy it, just a simple message to say he no longer wanted it would have been nice. Anyway, as already mentioned it's perhaps a good thing as it meant that the tool kit stayed with the car (although it's only been with the car since I bought it last year!) Take a look at the Lotus tool kit....not quite as comprehensive The towing hook looks like the opener from a tin of Spam....maybe it is. Image Unavailable, Please Login
that tow ring, if that's what I see there, looks very tiny. Not at all like a REAL Ferrari OEM industial strength capstan, loop...[ya' Lotus lubbers don't know how to spend money. Your gonna' miss it. ]
