The car was partially restored by Alfredo Brener and lived in Texas for a fair amount of time.

The car was sold at a VERY reasonable $27,000 in 2003 along with many, many significant Maserati's. Prices then seem very reasonable, and Sig. Brener's cars were wonderful.

I think FGM owned this car for a period of time, but I'm not 100% on that.

    Ciao and best!

The design looks significantly inspired by the Iso Grifo... I wonder how it compares chronologically with the Grifo.

There seems to be some Mistral inspiration as well, e.g. rear windows. Both the Grifo and the Mistral preceded this Moretti design by a couple of years.

I viewed this car at the RM auction in 2003, the car suffers from several bad angles while viewing. It's a bit clunky. the restoration was not well done with several fit and finish problems. I believe the auction estimate was for somewhere in the $35 - 50K range ( if I remember properly) which at the time i thought was a bit high.

As, already pointed out other cars from Mr. Brener's collection were also being sold at that sale. I think at least 6 or 7 of his cars hit the hammer. I would have registered, had expected the prices to be as reasonable - hind sight is 20/20. There were a couple of cars that would have been really cool to own... Like the v-8 by Frua, sometimes, mistakenly, know as the Frua Ghibli. I believe it sold for around $38K, anyone know for sure? Also for sale was the Frua Mexico.....

This car was sold in Monterey in 92 or 93 with many other cars owned by Brenner, yes it is a copy of a Grifo, a bad copy I thought it had a V8 but when I lifted the hood it had the old straight six.

I'm sorry your correct. it was 2003

I would think the 200K offer would have been plenty since the car sold for 29,700 !!!

It was a big Maserati year with the Brenner collection
